We've ridden hundreds of trails around the Hitchin area and further afield. Here you'll find most of our favourite routes, with links through to their full profile on Plotaroute.
Please feel free to use the route library, download the GPX file from Plotaroute and go for a ride. If you find something's wrong, either with the route while you're out riding it (a change to the bridleway etc), or you experience any problems accessing the GPX, do please let us know via our Contact page.
The WCC Index
The WCC Index is a general 'rule of thumb' for the ride difficulty. The lower the number, the easier the ride. It's simply a case of dividing the total ascent by the total distance. If you find a 5.8 is really easy, then try a 10.2 and let us know what you think. Don't forget, it's not based on anyone's ability, it's just a guide.
Local Routes. Shortest to longest.
Something different to the Sunday or Thursday rides. "Cheeky Tuesdays" are ridden a little (lot) quicker, with less stops (unless we have a mechanical) meaning you need to either be match-fit, or at least darn determined to keep up. Same route every time so you can compare how you did. The route offers a fine mix of open bridleway and twisty single track over 17 miles, with just 1220ft of climbing and descent. Always an extra to the weekly TNR, Cheeky Tuesday’s offer a chance to get a bit more saddle time in while the weather's on side. Keep an eye on Facebook for a Cheeky Tuesday shout!
