Something a little different if you fancy a route with a culinary twist and destination. Setting off from East Barnet Station, this route heads east through an amazing mix of urban landscapes from footballer's mansions to tenement blocks, eventually arriving at the Lea Valley.
Here we head south along the River Lea, passing the Olympic Park and travelling all the way to Bromley by Bow, at which point we head west along the Limehouse Cut, eventually arriving at the River Thames.
Here the route meanders through some of the old dock roads, popping in and out of the Thames Path where it's rideable, arriving at the magnificent Tower Bridge at it's end.
We head across the river here and start the full tarmac ride to our final destination... Mercanto Metropolitano - a wonderful collection of food vendors offering delights from around the world... oh and a fabulous micro brewery for the frothy beer reward!
Replete, it's then a short ride north up to King's Cross Station to let the train take the strain back to Hitchin.
